VT Training Partners with the British Military

The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) and Vosper Thornycroft (VT) partnership provides training across the British Military on a wide range of technical and management subjects. This high standard training is now available to industry and commerce. The modular
training gives the fl exibility to provide bespoke courses which can be delivered at one of the two REME sites (Arborfi eld or Bordon), conference hotel venues or customers premises.

The REME School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SEME) at Bordon offers nationally accredited courses and modules in the the following subjects:

• General workshop practice
• Health & safety inc abrasive wheels
• Turning and milling
• Sheetmetalwork and fabrication
• Blacksmithing and heat treatment
• All types of welding techniques
• Shipwright (boat repair techniques)
• Vehicle Mechanical maintenance
• Vehicle Electrical maintenance
• Ministry of Transport MOT examination and testing including LGV
• Panel beating and body work repairs
• Vehicle repair and restoration techniques
• Materials and equipment handling
• Cranage, lifting and slinging courses as below:
• Forklift truck operation and maintenance
• Overhead and lorry mounted crane safe operation
• Mobile crane maintenance and operation
• Bespoke lifting and slinging courses
• Mobile and static Environmental Cooling System (ECS) maintenance
  and operation
• Vehicle hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Off road driving and recovery techniques

The Bordon site offers dedicated workshop facilities surrounded by 230 hectares of private and secluded heath land. This is available for research and development trials, driving and recovery training plus a wide range of recreational or promotional activities.
